Politicians, newspaper editors
Pray uphold for the many
who are weak, helpless and lost
Not to further make life
miserable for the deprived
Those powerful seem to forget
power entrusted upon them
comes with responsibility not
stoned with drunken fervour
(44 words)
De at d'Verse's Quadrille Monday
for a poem of 44 words and to
include the word - stone
This is the situation and state of all the poltiicinas irrespective of any country. Brought out so well!
ReplyDeleteThis makes me think of an article I just read by Andrew Yang on Politico.com, Hank... https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2021/10/03/andrew-yang-book-excerpt-campaigning-514967
ReplyDeleteYour poem is right on.

ReplyDeleteGood one! 'Stoned with drunken fervour' seems more accurate for most of those in power today, unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteLovely lines.
