when the air is filled
with raindrops
blown across the wet day
charting its own destination
impacting her vision not bothered
blown across the wet day
charting its own destination
impacting her vision not bothered
with the surroundings
perhaps lost in the cold
it is so much reflecting
perhaps lost in the cold
it is so much reflecting
on her needs then
alone with her dreams
a brightly coloured little euphoria
wanting out to having fun
instead of being cooped up
tensed in the cage
just moments ago
what to make of it
now that it's gone
to engage in the freedom
it long desired
she is now just as free
as the little bird but she is not
with lots of options to her needs
but she is stifled for choices
perhaps some opportunities
alone with her dreams
a brightly coloured little euphoria
wanting out to having fun
instead of being cooped up
tensed in the cage
just moments ago
what to make of it
now that it's gone
to engage in the freedom
it long desired
she is now just as free
as the little bird but she is not
with lots of options to her needs
but she is stifled for choices
perhaps some opportunities
might pop up
is it a desire or is it a craving
is it a desire or is it a craving
certainly a lucky break is awaited for
in the pouring rain!

Love the phrase "stifled for choices" and the way it chimes with the rain.
ReplyDeleteThe opening chapter steadied me with a thirst to read the rest. Gorgeous piem Hank
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday
Much❤love
Lovely poem Hank, can relate to feeling like that at times but am trying hard to come out of those dark clouds.
ReplyDeleteTake care.

“a brightly coloured little euphoria” ... I love that!!!
ReplyDelete“a lucky break is awaited for
in the pouring rain” <3
"Stifled with choices" what a line! Sometimes too many options makes knowing where to head a hard decision. Always glad to see you at the Muse my friend Hank!
ReplyDeleteRaindrops do chart their own destination ~~~ cheers, Hank!
ReplyDeleteLet notthe options and stifling choices impact her freedom....let the raindrops wash them away! An evocative write.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully expressed Hank, Stifled with choices, perhaps, the rain can set her heart free
ReplyDeleteI resonate with her not being quite sure what to do with her freedom nce she had t. That happened to me more than once when I was young.
ReplyDeleteHank, "certainly a lucky break is awaited for in the
ReplyDeletepouring rain . . ," reminds me of back when I ran.
I loved running in the rain, it made me feel like a deer.
