the 12 given words:
stand dream slip wonder hawk heat
hands shell push pillow call find
here I stand to dream the ultimate
lingering but not to let it slip by
crying out loud for Heaven's wonder
clawing for Nirvana's salvation
a hawk in my nature
imploring to invoke the heat
despite hands being empty
eyes blindfolded but not enclosed
in a shell so I'm still lethal
not to push a pillow to my head
I am called to find the strength
to fight for my cause

Interesting take on the so interesting photo prompt! I like how she (using the photo as the narrator) will fight for her cause, although being unarmed and blindfolded. When asked to fight for a cause we believe in, we might all do well to "find the strength."
ReplyDeleteThat first line is so majestic and courageous!
ReplyDeleteThe one who raises his voice for a cause is stronger to bring about change than armies!
ReplyDeleteThere is such deep strength and conviction in this one, Hank!
ReplyDeleteSounds like this person is in a tense limbo but hope remains alive for victory. Interesting poem, Hank.
ReplyDeleteLife the ultimate cause to fight for. Pillows for resting, air for breathing.
ReplyDeleteOften a single clear determined voice can bring much change. Well written Hznk.
ReplyDeleteWe often wish or even yearn for help realising that it is up to us; but in the end we must accept the answer is still ours to find.
