The rhyming words given:
air fair pair square bare flair
Reflecting on good fortune and walking on air
When life was of problematic indications pulsating
Looking to the night sky at stars bidding to be fair
A tussle to recollect images of a pretty plaything
Like imaginations with mutual feelings of a pair
Boy and girl whispering sweet nothings manifold
Insisting on a sacrifice towards a future as a dare
Warm memories nostalgic in part but put on hold
Mindful of pegs in round holes not a square
Careful not to upset the blessed combination
That's the way to a fabric woven without a tear
Gingerly squaring off the common irritations
The winter of their life together laid bare
Meant for each other a relationship so wonderful
What kept alive little anecdotes of blissful flair
Two hearts locked in place exquisitely beautiful

A wonderful verse Hank. It's good when life is good and you're walking on air. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
I remember walking on air, Hank, and the feeling of being square pegs in round holes, but that doesn’t bother me anymore – I’m proud of it! I recognise elements of my married life in the final stanza.
ReplyDeleteTogetherness is the way when you got the one and screw what others say in the end.
ReplyDeleteYou've done a wonderful job of integrating the rhyming words given with your own rhymes and half-rhymes.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful dream and wishes, may they all come true:)
ReplyDeleteJust have to hold on to that magic.
ReplyDeleteWonderful execution of rhyme throughout the poem, Hank!💝
ReplyDeleteLovely close - magic indeed.

Enjoyed the way you balanced the sweet with the sharp in this.
ReplyDeleteA lovely dance of dreams. For some reason "squaring off" became square dancing in my mind. And how you must follow the lead to create a pattern. I think that fits also the idea of fabric and allowances, the attachments that are sewn together the needlework like fine dance steps. Allowing space so as not to tear apart.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful and I love the rhyme scheme throughout.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are safe Hank, I read there is an active volcano your way. Please use caution.
It is ok Ma'am. We are very safe. Very far away from us

Sometimes people are just made for each other.
ReplyDeleteA very nice write. I'm especially pleased with this poem because today my husband and I celebrate our 51st wedding anniversary. Our union has not always been replete with romance, but always with love.
ReplyDeleteWonderful 51st Myrna! Long-lasting and wishing both for many more!

ReplyDeleteMay the magic always be there as beautiful as this poem.
ReplyDeleteWhere bliss is found in two in love the poet cannot be silent
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Hank

Hi Hank! This reminds me of The famous pair Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire! Though only a pair on screen. So lovely and serene!
ReplyDeleteYes Jules, great screen dancers as a pair? Who would forget!

Your poem is a lovely dance in itself. Love this Hank!
