young lovers had better learn

the 12 given words:
fighting chance  love  fragile spoke light
gardens strength fragrant hearing pass things,

there was a fighting chance
that love could be unduly fragile
it spoke of light in the gardens
but its televised strengths beguiled

lost times devoid of a fragrant
when hearing evaporated to pass
was there a way to enhance
in as much as to make things last

love neglected would react
energy waned in unsettled bids
buoyed in situations of suspect
far from an ability to succeed

young lovers had better learn
sincerity and trust had to be earned

  1. Simply wonderful Hank. Takes me back many years this being my anniversary month. You used the given words very well. Thanks for an excellent read.

    Yvonne.

  2. Those two closing lines sum it up so well.

  3. Sure true indeed. Not everything just comes, have to build things up.

  4. Hello, Hank. Your poem is one of your best, I think – beautifully said.

I see you have a spammer: this bot calling itself Joson Froster (just in case you thought he was real.) I find these things amusing – before I delete them from my own blogs. This one is basically saying, 'Cheat with us because we are more efficient at not letting you get caught.' And I bet they charge a tidy sum for it, too!

    1. Thanks Rosemary Ma'am. We stay focused on our bids without their inputs.

  5. No going with commercial media images of love, for sure.

  6. Good job as usual fitting your words in so well. "Love neglected" is sad to think about. It often dies or transfers. Workaholics often fall into an unwitting perpetrator.

  7. I like how the poem comes to close. Nicely put.

  8. Seems easy to make a show of love so that it appears strong but it is fragile and delicate. The last lines sum up the write beautifully.

  10. A good lesson for everyone, Hank and a clever use of all the words.
