Image: Emperor of the Dawn (here)
Eyeing from a vantage point
Camouflaged conveniently
To peek at them unannounced
To catch details rightly
A spyglass was but a nuisance
Who could have guessed
Enough distractions in the confusion
A bit more imagination no less
Infinity of distance was a rot
Concentrate on those seemingly hot
One would get away without a shot

I like the way you’ve focused on the eyes in the image with the word ‘eyeing’ right at the start of the poem. I also like the nuisance spyglass, Hank!
ReplyDeleteOne never knows what spyglasses might be pointed in our direction.
ReplyDeleteGreat flow, and when a peeping you never know
ReplyDeleteA microview won't do for some things. We sometimes need to stand back to take a wider view to understand what it is we are looking at.
ReplyDeleteImagination does birth wonders when she dances with chaos.
ReplyDeleteThe "shot" of "get away without a shot"" changes our scene to a hunting one. I believe the 'viewer' to be the hunted. Scary now?
ReplyDeleteHow'd I do? Hank, it was nice reading, I liked the rhyme too.
..
The 'eyes' have it! I like your focus here....lyrically done.
ReplyDeleteSpyglasses - we all get spied on to some extent
