the 11 of 12 given words:
fury line soar shines embers
benediction (an utterance of good wishes.)
certainly wedge wait elation prophecy,
ah...sweet youth the fury of innocence
where are we to draw the line
to let it soar beyond redemption
or to let it labor on its shines
embers of anger burning profusely
turning a well-intentioned benediction
certainly into shambles of spent energy
driving a clear wedge between them
to stake a claim of rightful ownership
or wait around for contending parties
assigning blame in an outright big sweep
elation of victory an unassured promise
the prophecy of a winning hand is tough
goes haywire set astray by inexperience
youthful endeavor is just not good enough
ways of the world a confusing aspiration

Lillian's at d'Verse - ah sweet youth
Think it all comes easy, sure isn't that way in real life.
ReplyDeleteNice line: "certainly into shambles of spent energy"
ReplyDeletethe prophecy of a winning hand is tough - this was brilliant -we never know what to do if we did have it all
ReplyDeleteYouth thinks it can always win.
ReplyDeleteIt seems to me there is an effervescence in the romaticized vision or meaning of "youth." That swagger - that I've got this attitude. In today's world, perhaps youth are brought up with more warnings than we were. But then, it's definitely a different world. And oh yes -- when there a prophecy of a winning hand, it means the expectations are that much higher, the disappointments that much tougher.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting today!
