Image: A Bright Moonlit night (here)
Sweltering summer heat that beats down hard
Rivulets of sweat profusely racing downwards
Justifying notions of cooling off hot on the cards
A moonlight swim is a likely option considered
Or let us just walk together in the moonlight
As darkness beckons the two young lovers
On sultry evenings of holding hands so tight
Ostensibly afraid but confidence being together
Lunar shines may not rightly be that romantic
Some may go berserk at some point in the night
That's why they are fondly referred to as lunatics
Forces unexplained but lots to do with moonlight

ReplyDeleteI love to watch the full moon,
ReplyDeleteAs it shines in the sky,
It don't affect my mentality,
To me it's most relaxing, Hank that's why.
Yvonne.
moonlight swims are nice!
ReplyDeleteMoonlight is calming, it doesn't pressure like the sun does to work and be busy, but to relax and and hold someone's hand.
ReplyDeleteAnd some of us go quite loopy regardless of the state of the moon - the title alone made me smile Hank
ReplyDeleteMoonlight can sooth in a sveltering summer... Maybe it's just that we get energy to be crazy.
ReplyDeleteA moonlight walk.. so perfect for the summer!!!
ReplyDeleteWalking in the moonlight can be so very calming!
ReplyDeleteFirst, I must say that your title totally rocks.
ReplyDeleteSummer heat and moon sound like ingredients in a recipe of delicious night madness. We might not go out running, half-naked and screaming if the moon is dark, but under moonlight... so much is possible. And visible. ;-D
I really admire how you connect lunatics with moonlight, and how this shows how the moon can at times make us mad. A bit crazy. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteI like the thought of the two young lovers walking in the moonlight.
ReplyDeleteOh this was fascinating....I had never considered going made in the moonlight but yes, lunatics...makes perfect sense especially in all that heat.
ReplyDeleteSure, night time is good for lovers' walk, esp. when the summer so sweltering...
ReplyDeleteLovely Hank an excellent reflection of the power of the moon.
ReplyDeleteSo much can happen under the influence of the moon!
ReplyDeleteI had to smile at the last stanza. Some of us don't need the moon to go crazy. Ha. Love the different aspects of moon you describe - my favorite is the romantic side.
ReplyDeleteMoonlight is many things to people. Thank god for the moon to give us these thoughts.
ReplyDeleteLunar/lunatics - very clever and edifying. Another interesting post, Hank!
ReplyDeleteI definitely include myself in the "Lunartic" category, but I do like to walk alone in the moonlight :D XXX
ReplyDeleteLovely images you have created and questions too, I can imagine how wonderful it would be to take a walk hand in hand in the moonlight after a sweltering day in the sun,,, :-)
ReplyDeleteSh yes that fullness of moon's options for us mere mortals
ReplyDeleteNice!
