Image: Sakura Cherry Blossoms fare (here)
A is for Ablaze
The given 3WW words:
ablaze deep rabid
Of those appreciative of colors fare
Ablaze in sea of white and pink delights
A spectacle for the eyes so rare
Deep in their hearts an event awaited for
Knowing the nature of the phenomena
Available only for a few day’s of favor
Desire to experience it rabid all the more
Transience of the blossoms by nature
Its extreme beauty and quick death
Barely a week before the leaves appear
Sakura epitomizing the Japanese wealth

Intriguing poem! Love the images that you have painted in the poem! Beautifully executed! :D
ReplyDelete"Its extreme beauty and quick death" This is the secret odf arcadia: it always cntains death as well as pleasure. Your poem honors the blaze! Beautiful. (I am sorry that Japanese wealth is so transitory.)
ReplyDeleteNeed to catch it while you can, because soon it is gone. (But those blossoms do turn into green leaves.)
ReplyDeleteCatch it while you can, and enjoy the memory of it too! I really like your photo, and how the shade of pink grabs my attention!
ReplyDeleteit's sad that the show is only for a while but that is life..."Ablaze in sea of white and pink delight" my favorite line...great lines Hank..
ReplyDeletebut the beauty will linger forever to those who witness it Hank. lovely tribute to the sakura :)
ReplyDeleteA little pocket in life, so have to be caught or can miss a lot

ReplyDeleteGood start to the Challenge Hank.
I would love to see cherry blossoms sometime, either in Japan or in Washington DC. We get azaleas where I live, which are also stunning, but one always wants what one can't find in one's own back yard.
ReplyDeletethe anticipation is clear
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see those blossoms one day. :)
ReplyDeletebeautiful lines for a beautiful sight.
ReplyDeleteQuite the mixed imagery with the death and the wealth, rabid and transience to close together.
ReplyDeleteI am waiting impatiently. They are a glorious sight and they are gone before you blink. Happy A to Zing Hank :)
ReplyDeleteOh, blossoms are transient...but oh so beautiful while they last!
ReplyDeleteGreat way to start this challenge!
ReplyDeleteKaykuala,

Wow...this captures it in a breath. Excellent poem!!
Hi Hank,
ReplyDeleteA nice way to start the A to Z...those cherry blossoms are so lovely. I saw them a couple of years ago in DC the image has stayed with me along with that sweet scent.
The worth of Sakura's beauty is beyond measure, Hank. Though sad to think how quickly it will pass... the mem'ries it will leave to many will stay & live for far more a hundred year. Smiles. Thanks for the poem & have fun in your NaPoMo project!
