Note: Mijikayo (short night) is about the Summer Solstice ( June
21st)
the shortest night ie the longest day of the year
Mijikayo,warm
short night of summer, taste of
the season’s secret
Right from the word go
Short nights shrouded in trivia
Playful submission
Ticklish and wanting
Short nights create an urgency
Fulfillment jagged
Written for Chev’s CARPE DIEM #210 , with prompt - mijikayo
Playful indeed, as those short nights can be
ReplyDeleteShort nights ... can be very playful ... nicely done Hank. I like the hidden sensuality in this one.
ReplyDelete"Mijikayo" sounds so pretty, much nicer than "summer solstice"! Thanks for this new word and a sweet poem, Hank.

I can totally relate to this way of describing midsummer... a playful day indeed.
ReplyDeletelike the playfulness that is an undertone throughout - good for all ages :)
ReplyDeleteHere June 21st is the first day of Summer. Also the longest but not nearyly the hottest as the heat increase mulmentum hasn't peaked yet.
ReplyDeleteNice write, Hank. I'll play on the longest day, sometimes seem more playful than others.
..
I like the playfulness in the long day and the urgency in the short night!
