We're drifting
Sun is setting
There's no anchor
What to conquer?
The sea is vast
We'll not last
No water no food
It's not good
We're dead!

So hard to tell a story with so few words. Well done.
ReplyDeleteA dire situation, indeed.
ReplyDeleteUt oh.... well done with so few words :)
ReplyDeleteAh well. Worse things happen at sea. Oh wait...
ReplyDeletesmiles....in trouble at this point...and this makes for a cool metaphor as well...
ReplyDeleteYou got to the essence of the story. No mean achievement, that! Well done.
ReplyDeleteWell done. Beautifully succinct. Still ponder doing a limerick in 140 characters but it seldom gets there unless I cheat and say that the spaces are not characters.
ReplyDeleteso complete...or is it? I don't know, could be a cliff hanger (or endless sea) for more tiny writes each their own neat little package.
ReplyDeletewell done!
Hence the saying, "Dead in the water."
ReplyDeleteWonderful micro-fiction story, Hank. I am glad you started doing them. They are an easy, short post. I.e. not real time consumeing.
..
Time to swim for it
ReplyDeleteOr maybe have a real fit
And eat one another as well
Hmmm that would not be swell
You've done well with so few words:)
ReplyDeleteA succinct tragedy. Awesome! I really liked your slant on the photo.
ReplyDeleteI can only say, don't set sail without your rations. Enjoyed this, Hank--and agree, there are some things that we will never conquer.
ReplyDeleteNice micro fiction ~ I hate to be stuck at the middle of the sea though ~
ReplyDeleteA story in such few words..You painted it with such vision.
ReplyDeleteThe novel I'm currently reading had a collapse-at-sea theme. What is in today's air? High winds, I suppose.
ReplyDeleteDamn, I want more...
ReplyDeleteWell done, but I want more... ;D
Talk about getting to the point. Really cool concept with the micro fiction, and great execution. Loved it.
ReplyDeleteVery well done, Hank. A whole story there for sure.
