to include the line:
light as a feather
as a show-off among the high and mighty
when the tall skyscraper kissed the sky
belittling others sprouting up high
not unlike the flashy peacock's stance
in colours, regalia decked and fully enhanced
some are thrust to contend with such blessings
not their intention to go with slight teasings
beautiful butterflies symmetrically designed
pinned to the wall amidst soundless whines
not their intention to go with slight teasings
beautiful butterflies symmetrically designed
pinned to the wall amidst soundless whines
as light as a feather unceremoniously displayed
but crying out loud shying away left to their fate

Poor butterflies ... pinned to a wall. A well composed poem, Hank.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fate! I like to think they were found on the ground... not likely ;)
ReplyDeleteThere are ethical ways to harvest butterflies, but I suspect that is not the case here.
ReplyDeleteI agree that it's nicer to see them alive and fluttering.
ReplyDeleteWell done, Hank! I can hear those poor, beautiful butterflies crying out.
