"a wreath of frost" & "a mirage of confidence" are the two most precious images in the poem. I also agree what you say in the title :)
ReplyDeleteEven the cold can't take away the pride, but finding a place to hibernate may not be so bad.
ReplyDeleteI see both sides in your images: the danger and the pride. I relate to this poem so much! And then, it makes me think of my parents--at 92 and 93--still insisting on being on their own. May they live as free as they wish forever, strong souls in aged bodies.
