a chain of events brought them to the crossroads
not to chase any weird ideas he so cautioned
he just needed to brace himself but not to gloat
just a show of righteous fury to faux indignation
that should keep everyone locked, in their place
no rebels nor rebellion should be allowed leeway
no one should be dinged though but to give face
only then would they appreciate the fair play
Necessary to knock at the bottom of their defence
The tendency of a quake to be nipped in the bud
Pen few wise words to appeal to their good sense
Hopefully, they reverted back before being chided

ReplyDeleteWonderful to read, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThat was a tricky wordle and you wove the words well. I particularly like:
ReplyDelete'no rebels nor rebellion should be allowed leeway
no one should be dinged though but to give face
only then would they appreciate the fair play'.
All is well that ends well!
ReplyDeleteA turn about can be tricky, but in the end worth it.
ReplyDeleteI hope they made it across safely and didn't nip anyone!
ReplyDeleteThere is so much going on in the second stanza, so many things that speak of the current state of affairs... I wonder who will get to define "fair play".
ReplyDeleteI wonder though if the righteous have the right to be so.
ReplyDeleteYou wove in those words so seamlessly, Hank! Especially admire the second stanza. Powerfully written.
ReplyDeleteWordled wonderfully and reflecting so much that is current and alarming.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting write Hank
ReplyDeletemuch love...
