Image: A Female Harpist full of Concentration (here)
Slow lingering sounds
been around since ancient times
Floated leisurely by
Harp's magical strains
With graceful charms of plucking
Nero unperturbed
Smiling mockingly
Mesmerized by the flames but
birds hurriedly flew
For Chev's CARPE DIEM #820 - harp and
ABHRA's at d'Verse's OpenLinkNight#156
Those strings sure were music to the ears of many and scared many birds
ReplyDeleteThey can pull at the heart strings
ReplyDeleteLovely picture of a wonderfully sounding instrument, Good to read Hank.

ReplyDeleteIts like the picture came alive with your magical lines :D
ReplyDeleteBeautifully captured :D
It's a winsome, hypnotic sound, that's for sure. You convey so much in just a few short lines - well done!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderfully you evoke the sound of the harp and the work of the harpist. How true in the midst of beauty, we also become mesmerized by the ugly or frightening. Spencer is Kanzensakura
ReplyDeleteI love the musicality in this poem, Hank!
