A bundle of heap
He laid still in a stupor
Oblivious of stares
Had one too many
Stoned after a boy’s night out
He rested awhile
The bench was god-sent
The crowd milled around, to them
He was a homeless

Sorry for these people KAY-
ReplyDeleteI Saw them in New York in the 70s with their bed underneath the outlet of the air conditioning wrapped up in a blanket. And I had an hotel room above and had to move out next morning and do my job. How do we describe this experience so people understand ?
I like this a lot. Nicely crafted.
ReplyDeleteoh a bench makes for a decent bed...i'd take it...sure some probably thought me homeless at some point in my day...i have a heart for those that really are though....
ReplyDeleteWow! Very appealing and sensitive Kaiku.
ReplyDeleteSad, it happens too often. Unique take on the prompt
ReplyDeleteHe'll probably feel like he's been hit on the head by a stone when he wakes up!
ReplyDeleteI see him daily. Some days he sleeps on the ground close to the manhole emitting steam.
ReplyDeleteThese are fantastic you really have captured my emotions
ReplyDeleteLooking on we shouldn't jump to conclusions
ReplyDeleteWell done.
ReplyDeleteYou've made a solitary bench, moving.
ReplyDeleteStoned and homeless is not exactly where I would want to be!
