Spring lantern flickers
Swaying  slightly in the breeze
On  a lovingly warm night

The owl stood its ground
Wisely with a commanding
view of life below

A Japanese fare
Innocence of evening
Sipping light sake

Written for Chev' haiku at CARPE DIEM #154 with prompt Spring Lantern and d'Verse OpenLinkNight week #89

  14. Lovely - a whole scene sketched so economically, yet becoming vivid. (Which is quite Japanese, isn't it, to suggest so much, so minimally?)
