Ho-hum!
Where are they now?
Normally on time, ah!
finally! Need to stretch my neck
for this!

Thirsty?
No!  Hungry?  yes!
Not complaining but not
fair. Lots of food here but just a
morsel?

  2. ha. fun...love to feed the animals...there is a safari park nearby where you feed the giraffe out of the truck bed...those are some long tongues they have as well...sorry a bite is all i have to give though...they get plenty of bites in a day though...nice refreshing use of the form...

  3. Love the cinquains and the animals, Hank. The blue tongue of the giraffe always makes me smile, and the camel photo made me laugh.
    And I love dolphins.

  8. ..'trainers reward for good performance' --- i dunno but that made me sad... i like the cinquains you wrote but the very thought of rewarding animals for their performance is really saddening... they are forced to work & make audience happy in exchange for their living & foods...

  10. This was fun. I HAVE stood in line already to feed a giraffe. They definitely are amazing animals.

I laughed a bit at your last cinquain, as food works not only with animals but with people. Unfortunately, some parents use it! Sigh.

  14. Hank, your first 2 cinquains are joyous and amusing - it's probably a good thing that the animals don't tell us what they really think :-) The last one is just a little sad. I enjoy animal shows as much as the next person, but it is uncomfortable to think about how they are trained sometimes. That said, I've seen performances where the animals refused to co-operate, but they still got fed.
