trudging in slush

sitting in deep thoughts
emptiness across the eyes
brightness far beyond
blind to the present sometimes
trudging in slush for some days

  2. Blind to the present - sometimes we get in a rut and a funk and ignore the good around us.

  4. You’ve captured the current mood so well in this tanka, Hank. I often feel like I’m ‘trudging in slush’.
