Image: Rushing to be a Winner (here)
Being alone and feeling so down
Opportunity emerged barely unannounced
Caught by the neck sans much sound
Made to work that many rounds
Was it not the way in this lockdown?
Productivity could rightly overwhelm
But why were there chorus of laments
Surprised by blessings newly found
Not unlike a lottery winner bewildered
Instead with so much in hand flustered
Many confused angered and frustrated
Not the special breed of creative minds
Who long discovered what to do with time
They searched the realms of imagination
Worked on their efforts and observations
Tickled by the nature of discovery
With flashes of story-telling and poetry
Joy rightly exposed within the community
Lucky by chance bloggers grinning merrily
Lots to do but time limiting awkwardly
Bjorn at d'Verse - Poetics - solitude
I like the thought of being tickled by discovery giving one something to do with time.
ReplyDeleteA fine piece Hank always a pleasure to read one of yours.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
The final stanza resonated with me, Hank, especially:
ReplyDelete‘Tickled by the nature of discovery
With flashes of story-telling and poetry’.
Might as well create during that free time!
ReplyDeleteI just read an essay telling us to stop worrying about productivity and take this time as a gift to slow down and rest. We may not get the chance again.

Love this ending... in the midst of all the confinement is a vibrant community that can lift us up and encourage us to keep being productive!
You are never really lovely in the community of bloggers I think
