Noon and Night! (here)
they clamor for a quick fix-it
like a junkie for a fix
out of a job
no dough with little food
locked down facing not the wall
but sunken looks of hungry kids
bleeds the heart
when will it end
how will it end?

ReplyDeleteDifficult times, for sure. Well done.
ReplyDeleteA true picture of today - how will it end? I hope on a happier note.
ReplyDeleteAdequate, decisive subsidies to every home until it is safe to come out is the best choice for optimum outcome. Without it there will be many unnecessary deaths.
ReplyDeleteVery poignant Hank.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
The other side of this tragedy.
ReplyDeleteMany questions without answers these days.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed reading your poem, Hank. Stay healthy my friend.
ReplyDeleteBeing locked away like this create many new problems.
ReplyDeleteThe "sunken looks of hungry kids" is heartbreaking.
ReplyDeleteVery sad. I think the worst off are the ones who didn't have a job in the first place, as there are little prospects with much of the economy closed. Those who were already working are apparently doing well on unemployment insurance, some even making more than they did working. Perhaps this is the imbalance? Just some pondering from my side of the border.
ReplyDeleteA very sad situation indeed Hank.
