foliage earnest
aeromancy (prediction of future events
from observation of weather conditions).
hamster running birch sleep
hesitate smoke awake shoes
through the foliage of challenges
unwittingly hiding his vision
he lamented his misfortune
he knew he had tried in earnest
now his senses were stultified
if only he could invoke his skills in aeromancy
it was most unfortunate
his knowledge rudimentarily acquired
were now further muddled
emerging rain clouds dealt a cruel blow
he could only sigh
his choices limited
he was restrained in contemplation
suddenly he spied a hamster running up a birch tree
that brought some painful realization
he should get out of this seemingly deep sleep
and start running himself
he hesitated for some while
the smoke then cleared
he was now fully awake
he grabbed his shoes
he had to move fast
he had now made his decision
he had a fighting chance!

good poem! reminded me that animals are the best at aeromancy. Before a tsunami struck whre i live in 2004 all the animals ran away in fear and if that isn't a warning sign idk what is!
ReplyDeleteMost enjoyable poem Hank, great reading.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
We could learn so much just by observing nature and following our own instincts =)
