Image: A wire-form of a mouse-trap (here)Saturday Mix – Opposing Forces - the use of antithesis
the words are:
– simple and complicated
– vowel and consonant
can it get any worse than it is
waiting cautiously for attention
looking for an answer to please
amidst throes of anticipation
simple solutions wrought
with complicated arguments
not something to be fought
to contend with no entrapments
lots of vowels of abhorrence
within blandishments of consonants
cajolement with good sentiments
wise conclusion of appeasements

M awaiting answers to my problems Hank. Wonderfully put as always,
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Yvonne.
Have to watch out for those entrapments as there are many to avoid getting stuck in.
ReplyDeleteI echo Pat...beware the entrapments. That is an alarming mousetrap!
ReplyDeleteAre there really any simple solutions...?
ReplyDeleteLots of attraction into the traps, friend! Even this poem traps one in! And then there's the illustration. Once caught, there is no escape.
ReplyDeleteSometimes we walk unknowingly into a trap and realize it later. Oh the agony 😥 This is an excellent poem, Hank!💞
ReplyDeleteTraps are never simple...
ReplyDeleteI love how you wove in the opposites....
ReplyDelete– simple and complicated
– vowel and consonant
....nicely done!
I hope it cannot get any worse, but somehow i think there is a possibility that it will.
ReplyDeleteWell we are the most ruthless wild animal on the planet what do you expect but chaos, pain and destruction. As for appeasements..well they last only a short while.
ReplyDeleteWonderfully worded
ReplyDeleteYou wove in some wisdom with your words. We all wait to be free from our entrapment.
ReplyDeleteNicely written.
I didn't understand this...but applaud you nonetheless- cos I'm a fan!
ReplyDeleteVery cool! My favorite line: 'simple solutions wrought with complicated arguments'. So true.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, such difficult times and no easy solutions.
ReplyDeleteYou have made the use of the contradicting words seem effortless. Nicely done.
