the 11 0f 12 given words:
inept inconsequential injury impinge invoke
interior immune impurity incorrigible
icily (in a cold manner)
ictus (an epileptic seizure, a stroke
a cerebrovascular incident)
age of reason inept in a young mind
inconsequential to decision-making
lacking measures that squarely defined
the confines of a responsible being
injury prone in mid-life to impinge
on career demands and refinements
to invoke passions to rightly infringe
on a stable interior to cause confusions
attainment of success in life immune
to doubts and impurity of confidence
not incorrigible but ideas finely tuned
heading corporations in high positions
old age crept in icily sending shivers
and forever a danger to engulf the icon
with shadows of ictus hovering above
vital to fight the onslaught head-on

"old age crept in"
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's that way, and sometimes it comes with a crash and a bang!
At every stage there are new lessons to be learnt and new challenges to face. A circle vicious or viscous or both.
ReplyDeleteNice write Hank. Happy you dropped by my blog today
Much❤😊❤love
Old age need not engulf, unless youth and middle age have rendered one into an icon rather than a person. The threat is there, and poems like this may help some avoid the pitfall.
ReplyDeleteFirst, I adore the lovely kitties! And I admire the dexterity with which you used all the prompt words, Hank. And yikes, the possibility of a cerebral event is scary indeed. Let's avoid those, if we can!
ReplyDeleteOld age is not a concern if one has used the active years wisely as regret may sour your final years.
ReplyDelete"injury prone in mid-life"...does the damage. Ouch.
ReplyDeletegosh mid life with its injuries and old age just there creeping in..makes you think of how best you can live right now..but somehow you at some level keep thinking you have enough time...
ReplyDeleteThings always creep in with mid life and then they linger into old age, ugg to crummy bodies.
ReplyDeleteI can relate to the injury prone midlife for sure
