simple thoughts are more challenging - a Gogyohka

                                                                                  Artist: Albert Anker (1831–1910)

simple thoughts
are more challenging
as creating them
will draw on more
thinking endeavors

after writing a long
letter a sage once
apologized for having
no time
to write a short one

Gogyohka simply means a verse written
in five lines,.The idea is to take the traditional
form of Tanka poetry (of 5-7-5-7-7 which
is written in five lines) and liberate its structure
creating a freer form of verse with no
syllabic count limitations

Chev's Carpe Diem Weekend Meditation #45
Gogyohka, a modern way of writing/creating tanka

  1. Very wise and true words Hank.
    Enjoy your weekend.

  2. Sometimes the ramble turns something simple into far more

  3. Oh, so much to think about this one. And thus the endeavor shall go on.
    Wise and intellectually stimulating.

  4. "thinking endeavors"..Yes, very important, specially for the haiku, tanka and the likes. Nicely put Hank.
