imposing black memories

Could unpleasantness remain
at the back burner?

Any sense in blocking it?

Perhaps it should be considered it visit
Unpleasantness would then be avoided

In not extending a welcome
it would seem a reasonable option

Cram all the embarrassment
for just one occasion
and to still remain friends
