struggle fringe mystery lift power
charge storm swirl star road sigh
life is always a constant struggle
most colorful and hardworking
tireless always strong and healthy
these as fringe benefits of
a group of fishermen
who are deemed society's life blood
they appear to put up a brave front
of happiness in what they are doing
but in fact they really enjoy what they are doing
they allow themselves to be surprised
to be astounded by the mystery of their catch
that provides the lift on their enthusiasm
it rekindles the power to charge their energy
to help them brave the storm
that swirl their boats without mercy
guided only by the stars on dark nights
the road to satisfaction comes in many ways
sigh!

You might as well enjoy it, right?
ReplyDeleteThis one is a great slice of life, Hank.
Indeed... we do enjoy the struggle and the hunt... at least as long as we get the basics for survival
ReplyDeleteThe joy is buried in the struggle. A good flow. And you did a 2 for 1 as well with Sunday whirl. Excellent (I had to do 2!)
ReplyDeleteHave to keep on pushing on and learn from the struggle. Enjoy the ride indeed.
ReplyDeletethey allow themselves to be surprised

This is a wonderfully positive commentary!
I love this especially; "it rekindles the power to charge their energy to help them brave the storm that swirl their boats without mercy guided only by the stars on dark nights." Beautifully penned.
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween!
