Absence - that common cure of love - Lord Byron
(to be inspired by the above quote)
One would have thought
Nearness is the answer
Fulfillment of the silhouette of yearnings
Nature's attraction answered
Where the loved one is physically there
But not so for absence is a tacit spite of reality
Where a loved one is physically a distant away
Yet absence is that common cure of love
One would have thought out of sight out of mind
But not so, not how the element of a paradox works
For it is an insistence that brings out the truth
Proving that the opposite of what is expected
Can well bring the same results
The fascination of a paradox**
Paradox** - a statement that
seems self-contradictory but in
reality expresses a possible truth
Hannah's at Real Toad's inspiration from
Transforming with Nature's Wonders
Sometime things aren't how we think they wold be, causing a paradox to come to be.
ReplyDeleteMaybe love is ignited by a yearning fueled by absence
ReplyDeleteI've said since I can remember that "absence makes the heart grow fonder," but with reservations. Nice logic, Hank.
ReplyDelete..
Sometimes the missing one is in our thoughts most of all. Great topic, Hank.
ReplyDeleteI guess sometimes we do not know what we have until we don't have it. Absence does seem to make us miss those we love, and hold them more dear in our heart.
ReplyDeleteI agree, absence does make love grow stronger ❤️ Beautifully penned.
ReplyDeleteOut of sight, out of mind...
ReplyDeleteNot when you're two of a kind
Yet most people I used to know
Were good runners at their show
Very intriguing. My husband has never been away long but when he was very sick and the possibility existed that he would not make it, I loved him more. I think it is the same with absence. Than you start to be aware of what you have or haven't anymore
ReplyDeleteIt would have been a harrowing experience if a loved one is in such a situation. Sincerely hope he is ok now!
DeleteHank
Out of sight out of mind never really worked for me
ReplyDeleteonce in the heart and mind, there the feelings dwell..
I love the intrigue in the paradox...penned well, Hank, thank you!
