Poppies evoked the
poignant feel to relate to
heroic exploits
Happiness to the
soldiers to be remembered
How we were steamed now
When knowing ills of
the drug scene emanated
from the poppy plants

You make an interesting point; well done.
ReplyDeleteTis true, they are more than drugs but a reminder of fallen soldiers especially for the month of November. Just like Gillena, for many years at school, we (students) bought paper poppies for the entire of November, all funds went to the surviving soldiers of World War I and II.
