A Toast - Micro Fiction

A toast for the year
Love your nose,no offense
Your music,your hat
Love your everything
It's been a colorful year
Despite in black and white

Grandma challenged us to write a Micro Fiction with the given
picture not exceeding 140 characters and to include the word offend where possible.

  9. I might have used the word "albeit" in place of "despite", but the piece as a whole is wry and charming, and that's tough to carry of in 140 words, let alone 140 characters.

    1. I tossed around both initially. 'albeit' has connotations of 'although' while 'despite' is more of 'even though' When substituted , It's been a colorful year although in b/w as opposed to, It's been a colorful year even though in b/w. Both seems ok but I thought the latter is more appropriate just a shade. Thanks for your input Wk!

  13. A huge fan of micro fiction..you gave us ten chapters in just a few lines. When a person can so vividly create a scene that transcends the words written as well as this one has, its a bit of a miracle I think..great work.
