The Sunday Whirl: the 10 of 12 given words:
swaying drifted steam grass radiance flushed
perfume hypnotic skin hiss - 753
The lighted candle its flame swaying
drifted upwards its sterile aroma of steam
and smoke permeated the air
A feel of freshly cut grass gripped his
imagination
Its radiance flushed his mind with
a perfumed hold that enveloped
him in a hypnotic trance
He shivered in his skin as though
a hissing snake had left
its venom all over
He regretted having abandoned
his wife with a young son recently
Now perhaps having to face
divine correction for his mistake

Speaking to the absent father/s. There's much to be said!
ReplyDeleteYour poem appeals not only to the senses, Hank, but also to the reader’s sense of justice and compassion, with the father ‘having to face divine correction for his mistake’.
ReplyDeleteI hope he find the strength to correct his mistakes.
ReplyDeleteYou leave me wanting to know more of the story, Hank.
ReplyDeleteGreat interpretation Hank 🙌
ReplyDeletelove how you unwrapped the painting with the wordle creating a story of a man dealing with consequences in the light of a candle
