It’s all about face
An image so sacred
An image so sacred
A portrait of one
Where there are
No takers to others on earth
Even identical twins are different
In physical looks
A person is one and only
No two persons resemble another
How so unique
How so sublime
The wonder of nature
Providence has a hand
But let nature take its course
The individual
Is unto himself
It’s his domain
It’s him to savour
It’s him to take cognizance
A look in the mirror
The portrait of a mother’s pride
And no one to dispute!
In physical looks
A person is one and only
No two persons resemble another
How so unique
How so sublime
The wonder of nature
Providence has a hand
But let nature take its course
The individual
Is unto himself
It’s his domain
It’s him to savour
It’s him to take cognizance
A look in the mirror
The portrait of a mother’s pride
And no one to dispute!

Making Vincent a saint! I wonder if he deserves it though?
ReplyDeleteI think if you paint your own image you often use the best colors... much like making a selfie on instagram
ReplyDeleteAn interesting exploration of the most unique part of the human being – apart from fingerprints – ‘It’s all about face’. I like the phrase ‘a portrait of one’, Hank, and ‘the portrait of a mother’s pride’.
ReplyDeleteCertainly interesting and powerful writing, enhanced by the image of VVG - gave me food for thought certainly - thank you. Us as others see us and as we see ourselves and the dynamic effect this has on our lives and the memories of ourselves we leave behind, as our lives play out...
ReplyDeleteI like the ending lines very much.
ReplyDeleteAnd of course below the surface, we are all vastly different and unique.
ReplyDeleteSelf-portraits are so difficult to do and often, like this one - enigmatic...
ReplyDeleteI once tried to paint my own portrait from memory, the trouble was, it kept looking like Robert Redford. 😉✌🏼🫶🏼 I enjoyed this my friend.
ReplyDeleteAnd this is certainly the universal "portrait of one".
ReplyDeleteA picture can paint many words - but, art is subjective. No one can paint the anguish felt inside. ~ Truedessa
ReplyDeleteHow are you my friend?
