what was the drift?
his mind declined to answer
sadly it had happened
he let slip the opportunity
a sure sign of misjudgment
he tried to keep his chin up
in vain efforts of maintaining
some form of authority
we anticipate good decisions
to welcome a new beginning
- that he realised
but where are we heading?
silence is not really an option
all bottled up reduced the choices

ReplyDeleteoh yes....good one. Am reminded of conference meetings when I was still on the job....and just KNOWING that some of my colleagues had good ideas but were too reticent to speak.
ReplyDeleteYou and I took off in the same direction! Love where it took us! Keeping everything bottled up so unhealthy.
ReplyDeleteYou are right, silence is not really an option, unless we want waht's bottled up to fester and, eventually, eat at us. Great take on the prompt!
ReplyDeleteOh dear, it can be quite a disappointment when this happens.
ReplyDeleteGood take on the prompt!
ReplyDeleteSome very important "roads to take" are not within our control. Did we cause this or was it a matter of fate?
ReplyDeleteI like your "in a bottle" picture. I'm wondering whether you made or painted it or might it be an online virtual composition, you furnish a picture of what goes inside.
