Image: Soft to Touch (here)An evening out for some fun
Through the various watering holes
Outfits often full of the young ones
Set to while away some sorrows
Through with sleeping at any rate
Grand moments shared among peers
Dismissed from the minds woes of late
Strains of music soothing to the ears
Pondered around for some familiar faces
Meeting penetrating gaze of the other
Garbed in suits quiet in subdued solace
Of subdued souls hiding in one corner
Untouched round for one untried bloke
For another who broke his glass trying
One too many abound for some folks
To each his own those out for a fling

Hank, you described a scene (with poetry) so many know, on an intimate basis. Well done!
ReplyDeleteI never even did that when I was young.
ReplyDeleteMy wife would call that broken glass alcohol abuse.
