The designs would just turn ballistic

She liked art as a medium of expression
It provoked her mind to no end
That was the only way she felt the liaison
There was a start so she would not lament
And not bothering on the consequence

She picked a theme to start with the show
It would trigger the process unwittingly
Otherwise she would be stumped to know
A compelling desire for the veracity
It just could not be explained in the flow
Once it got off the ground without a clawback
There was just no turning back

Today it was wriggling in her head like magic
It came in brilliance of something psychedelic
Another time it was colorful and kaleidoscopic
It was easy once the cob-webs cleared up the logic

It could be so hopelessly a chore to fix
That dampened the creative juices
The designs would just turn ballistic
in the mind all confusing and listless
She had been through many times like this
The hazardous recalls of an impressionist artist

  3. Inspiration kind of slides up on you when you least expect it. But you have to make sure you leave room enough for it to move in, otherwise it won't show up at all.

  9. I like the slant rhymes, like ballistic and listless and the contrast of meaning.

  10. As simple as a child with freedom of the brushes. I've read that we should not ask what it is they painted or drew. Doing so would confine their talent to what would be real.

  11. Beautiful! It is inspiring that you blended impressionists and poetry (both of my favorites) in a poem. Thank you so much for sharing :)
