Heat

High flying footballers
In the heat of the moment
Must avoid flare-ups

Strange but true, a man
in 'heat' is an animal
of uncontrolled lusts

Heated arguments
Waste talents and energy
Would not solve problems

A heated debate
Shows lack of maturity
Spectacle to see

If given the choice
Between a heat wave and floods
Many would be stumped

Written for Sensational Haiku Wednesday with prompt -heat-

  1. A man in heat
    Can be hard to defeat
    As it takes ones self
To put the heat back on the shelf

  2. heat will def do some crazy things to you...last week here was brutal...it wears on you and tempers become short as well since the blood is already nearly at boil..

I could imagine the testing times when you went through without power. The fact that you're back shows all are behind you now!

  4. This is brilliant. It works well as a single poem and equally well as a series of haiku.

  11. Heat certainly does challenge some people with short tempers to the point of no return. But nothing is really solved by losing them in the end, is it?
    Nice write Hank
