Image: A Crescent Moon (here)
the 12 given words:
frothy breathe cottage eggs dish order
touch whiskey singe lift smoke empty
frothy in the mouth
to breathe of the night air
a crescent moon in the distance
cottage cheese eggs and bread
with a touch of whiskey water
nothing unusual
of a dish in a single order
enough to singe
the long unkempt white beard
and lift the mood to a higher level
smoke swirling upwards
from the expensive cigar
clenched tight and angry
for not having the right company
feeling empty and uneasy
in a lockdown situation
alone at the table

A lot of people are feeling that kind of lonely.
ReplyDeleteVery well done, Hank! Love your title as well.
ReplyDeleteA simply wonderful poem Hank, I too love to look at the moon at night. Somehow so relaxing.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
The picture is beyond beautiful. Well written. I can see the man and his dissatisfaction. The stay at home orders are a bit of misery for the extroverts out there.
