Strains of violin
On leaving for Tyumen
East of the Urals

Still forging ahead
Across the cold divide with
Shadows of Aleph

Enhanced crescendo
of train journey romantics
city turbulence

Note: Tyumen is the administrative center of Asian Russia

For Chev's CARPE DIEM #370  -  Tyumen

    1. One hears of dissidents being sent to Siberia as a punishment. But Tyumen apparently is beautiful and well placed as a commercial and industrial centre! Perhaps it was before but not anymore! Thanks Pakcik!

  3. I'd never heard of Tyumen. I think I'm so well-read yet so ignorant of much of the world. Interesting read. Train journeys always seem so romantic and I can almost hear the violin.
