it is morbid, it is evil looking

Image: Death's-Head Hawkmoth -  close-up of the thorax  (here)
These moths are easily distinguishable
by the vaguely human skull-shaped pattern
of markings on the thorax.

10 of 12 given words:
morbid giving daylight dangerous
leave care, friends led trance illness

it is morbid, it is evil looking in drab
colors a near perfect depiction of bad
spirits giving a scare in broad daylight

it enhances feelings of awe and terror
what is more intimidating is a loud chirp
it emits when irritated and it bites

dangerous to bees as it feeds on honey
and more intriguing is its ability not to
leave the hive for days and not being
stung in there unprotected

does it bother or care to friends and
foe that it seems to be in a trance and
led to believe it will not incur
any illness if touched?

Perhaps not but still it has the uncanny
appearance of a bad omen.

gnarled at mother's conscience

                                                                                                               Author: Lucy
Image:  A mother goose providing
shelter to her goslings (here)

the 11 of 12 given words:
peal (loud repeated or reverberating sound)
octave (the interval between one musical pitch and another with half or double its frequency)
gnarl nightmare negligence nullify
boketto (to gaze vacantly into the distance without thinking)
leash (a line or rope used to walk or control a dog)
muscle misrepresent parasite

peals of baby's desperation
high octaves cause of much concern
gnarled at mother's conscience
a nightmare of negligence

reaction to nullify the fright
enhanced the boketto plight
goslings not on a leash was a delight
freedom to move bound to excite

a sudden downpour was a damper
they muscled their way to be under
no attempt to misrepresent the bother
parasitic rush to be under cover

multiple broods accorded by Providence
mother's privilege never to question

a certain blight on his reasoning

Image: Hand with 'power stone' bracelets

11of 12 given words:
blight (a thing that spoils or damages something)
cajole (persuaded to do by sustained coaxing or flattery)
cringe heap called kind close wild wolf means small

a certain blight on his reasoning
he was cajoled into acting foolishly
cringed at the ease of its happening
heaps of flattery working lavishly

called to check on its vulnerability
it was kind of too close for comfort
wild wolf whistles could turn nasty
means of getting attention of sorts

a pretty young lass should not bother
small price to pay but worth the bastions
could be damaging if allowed to fester
let attention seekers resort to other diversions

Like the old bachelor days

                                                                                         Author Jeangagnon
Image: Just a Slice (here)

Dear All,
The tummy turning
With a strange sounding pleading
Just  not my being
Famished upon waking up
To the galley for some food

What tough luck waiting
Had totally forgotten
Was the maid's off day
Bread and plain water
Like the old bachelor days

a super Blue Moon total eclipse!

a Historic Moment (here)

Remember the Blue Moon? – so called being a second
of two full moons in one calendar month (it passed through
the Earth’s shadow on January 31, 2018, to give us a total
lunar eclipse) It is also the third in a series of three straight
full moon supermoons – that is, super-close full moons. So
it’s not just a total lunar eclipse, or a Blue Moon, or a
supermoon. It’s all three  a super Blue Moon total eclipse!

It is the first Blue Moon total eclipse in 150 years

the 11 of 12 given words:
burning burns appear hope cave
bonds frailty read flowers sugars flares

what a scream!
the first Blue Moon total eclipse in 150 years!

it creates a burning desire that
burns ever since he got news of
its impending will to appear

his hope is a clear night
on a beach definitely
not in a cave

his bond with astronomy
is a romance with the cosmic
mysteries ever since the day he
received a telescope for
his 10th birthday

the frailty of a rainy night though
reads like flowers and sugars
that flares in his mind

but he is unperturbed
he is determined not to miss the
unique opportunity of a lifetime

No more zooming in Aston Martins

Image: The Super-heroes wannabes (here)

Super-charged, super strength
Extended technology
Computer animated
All combined to redefine
the ability that defied odds
of Super-power heroes

No more stalking
No more running-around, punching
No more zooming in Aston Martins

It is now flying through the air
wielding firepower from within themselves
that can inflict untold and tragic outcomes
coupled and supported with sci-fi works
flashers and explosions

It has brought Super-hero
exploits to a whole new level

It is fun growing up for the youngsters!

dreaming in cyan surroundings

                                                                             Author: Christopher Michel
Image: In a trance (here)

10 of 12 given words:
nod gradual mumble gradual
vaunt (verb) (to boast or brag)
asleep scantily tragedy tradition
cyan (a greenish-blue color used in photography and color printing)
Koi no Yokan (Japanese) (the sense one can have upon first meeting a person that the
two of you are going to fall in love)

a nod a gradual mumble
a vaunt regarding his prowess
yet sound asleep still dressed
scantily in pajamas
dreaming in cyan surroundings
lulled in a Koi no Yokan
with an angel of his imagination
all too familiar a ritual
some mornings

a tragedy of sorts

he went against the tradition
of not washing his feet prior to
jumping to bed the night before

is it true or just old wife's tale?

having other fishes to fry
a gift to reward one's efforts
in a manner not on the sly
to the Bahamas southwards

star offering not known to silence
golden sands on a scenic beach
crowded vacation destination
to mar the natural-like peace

charged up with urban life's challenge
an ideal choice to let off steam
away from stormy unsolicited tensions
to bask in peaceful heavenly dreams

could one be faulted on an indiscretion
that could go a long way to appease
a mind all wired up with office problems
be kind to oneself to be well at ease

Is there a way out of the doldrums?

Contemplating life's challenges
Quietly assessing and reviewing
Is there a way out of the doldrums
Looking outwardly is inspiring

Archway  an open book inviting
Lamenting in the shadows sadly
Venture out decisively by stepping
Under and across perhaps awkwardly

Nothing to stultify a progress desired
Sincere efforts will be aptly rewarded

The final curtain to herald the end of the road

Attribution: Michael Trolove / End of the road, Little Stukeley / CC BY-SA 2.0
Image: A Sad End (here)

The heart booming in little cautious palpitations
This is it the outcome of many uncanny episodes
A finality to the goings-on of varied situations
The final curtain to herald the end of the road

Wonder what little pieces of news along the way
What can transpire before the closing of the chapter
Ought to be serials of lively moments that hold sway
Life will be dull devoid of highlights that inspire

A pull-back on memorable moments and fears
Love and all the permutations with 'little darlings'
The highs and lows, of laughter and sad tears
Generally feature most that makes life worth living

writing a poem can be frustrating

Author: U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
Image: Reading for Inspiration (here)

10 of 12 given words:
poem waves glides sleek made things head cuts
murk (darkness or thick mist that makes it difficult to see)
balsa (balsa wood is a very lightweight material)

writing a poem can be frustrating
it comes in waves of inspiration
it glides easy at odd times feeding
the sleek inquisitive self at random

wading through the murk is plain silly
unlike balsa wood lightweight and easy
things made difficult with no big money
tensions to the head makes it giddy and guilty

it is best not to hurry matters at hand
a rest between takes to cut off the gloom
just heavenly to work with a rested mind
to let the creative juices space to bloom

nothing like kingfisher diving into it

                                                                                     Attribution: Hossein Zare
Image:  A 3-in-1 Choice

the 12 given words:
sweep foot virtue void bridge hurry kingfisher Nitendo
shimmer (quivering image as produced by reflecting faint light)
tonal (relating to the tone of music, colour, or writing)
grove (a group of trees planted close together)
Burgundy (a red wine from Burgundy)

A sweep of the intended journey
by foot by virtue of uneasiness
revealed a void as opposed to
clear directions

The desire to bridge the chasm
for the token of love was a 3-in-1
choice but a friendly shimmering
light shadowed by an accompaniment
of light tonal music was the pull factor

He hurriedly proceeded towards
an unlikely and mysterious orange
grove that appeared Burgundy red
in the far distance hoping for a find

Nothing like kingfisher diving into
a no holds barred situation just as a
skillful Nitendo practitioner for which
he had occasioned his talents

sometimes frustrations stifled our yearnings

                                                                      Attribution: © Jade Wong
the 12 given words:
saw arms small mind scar bar apart haul snarling sharp trunk
hearth (the floor of a fireplace, usually of stone, brick)

saw with arms outstretched but still without
dilemma for many in grave situations
where small inconveniences were often fraught
with added difficulties in the long run

snowman in mind and body meant to bring joy
a scar to wishful intentions much desired
devoid of movements was not a ploy
but a bar to effectively socialize as required

gregarious living in an urban environment
not apart from society but hauled aside
snarling neighbors added to the amusement
sharp contrast to the quiet of the countryside

place your trunk then next to the hearth
to experience the warmth of human gathering
beg your pardon you were all plainly just ice
sometimes frustrations stifled our yearnings
