trapped airless biddings not at all forbidden
not frowned on but under innovative guises

not stone carvings but beautifully frozen
in ice so delicately with massive potential
myriads of flowers mostly in full bloom
with admiration to appreciate and to ogle

like a good thing coming in with a quick entry
it begets a quick kill to be obliterated with awe
melting excruciatingly dripping with dignity
but slow in process to render time to adore

Image: A mean machine
in the past  (here)

Quenching its thirst
It's being through with running
a mean machine
in the past
but now tiredness is of right
a respite is mandatory
to rest awhile

survival is not an option
but a life and death thing
so as to be able
to walk the next day

it now walks alone

there was a pack
following at his rear
not anymore
it was long gone

a dominant leader emerged
and enticed them away

the human kind
who flew out the nest
they did it on their own accord

but they are still emotionally attached
for family attachment is sacred
of ties that bind

the 11 of 12 given words:
box pang heavy moved held share
blooms trail forget writing could

He is still at a loss
Nothing in the lunch-box
but pangs of hunger brought him back

Something's on the kitchen table
She had the good sense
of putting some grub there
His guilt feelings seemed too heavy
He should not emulate the mangosteen
The outer skin is hard
He has to give way much
She was moved he thought
It all seemed too easy to hurt her

He held designs
to share a lot with her
He held promise of things easy
Blooms all the way along the trail
Forget minor inconveniences, he thought
The writing was on the wall
He could have seen it
He should!

She had said ‘no’
Why did she change her mind?

He has learned that much
about her to know her
He had known her that long
He had known her all his life!

She had gone through so much herself
He had not been that easy a guy to please

She’ll give in again this time
It had worked even
during the turbulent teen years
After all, Mom knows best!

Isn’t it pretty to think so? – Ernest Hemingway
in The Sun Also Rises (1926)

Case of misconstrued insanity
Could he be faulted for a time
Lingering in throes of secrecy
Not really worth a dime

He searched his conscience
He thought he had it made
Sweetie Pie, he even gave a name
But she would rather have him dead

What did he do wrong
Whispering sweet nothings?
Choice of words all along
Not open to feigning

But he was not about to give up
Faint heart given a nudge
Plodding on would be smart
Time would be the judge

To retain a semblance of authority

onslaught people rights end signs pour
drought  history still slide symbol week

The onslaught on people's rights
A peek toward's the openings of war
No end to human conflict and slights
Signs of old forever at the door

Pour it all out and end the drought
History still nagging to arrest the slide
The reaction is symbolic of a sort
Not wanting to give way without a fight

If they can find their own tufts
But for weeks as always the case
It’s space and acting terse
Instinct determines the pace

Just a quibble and they erupt
They take positions aggressively
The equation is quick to disrupt
They bite lash and gnarl incessantly

They just go berserk without warning
Like the dog in the manger reacting
Not unlike a human provoked parrying
Off blows after blows contending

Each having as many rights
To wrench away at victory
Insisting to resolve to fight
To retain a semblance of authority

I have reached this far
Chauffeur- driven it is a beautiful car
But this flower at the lapel is in the way
Despite an hour hunting for it yesterday

It is a pretty flower, a beauty indeed
Get it right fast for I have a date to keep.
My desire is stunted I am left flustered
The evil is afflicting me hard and I’m all frustrated

I have been through a trying existence
Fading by the minute the bother is an irritant
Time is fast-moving my chances in a deep abyss
A flower between me and that all-important kiss

crimson yellow peeping over the horizon

Trimeric was invented by Charles A. Stone.
1. A Trimeric has 4 stanzas
2. The first stanza has 4 lines
3. The other three stanzas have 3 lines each
4. The first line of each stanza is a refrain of the corresponding line
in the first stanza (so 2nd stanza starts with the second line, the third
stanza starts with the third line, etc.).
5. The sequence of lines, then, is abcd, b – -, c – -, d – -.
Note: No other rules on line length, meter, or rhyme.
but Hank kept the rhyming

crimson yellow peeping over the horizon
getting brighter by the minute but not fully
just stirring up and still dizzy feeling broken
already sunrise with birds chirping incessantly

getting brighter by the minute but not fully
the free-flowing booze made his head heavy
felt like throwing up but kept his senses easy

just stirring up and still dizzy feeling broken
reflecting sadly he was not where he belonged
an idler not used to staying on the job for long

already sunrise with birds chirping incessantly
yet to receive the stipend he was to get rightly
but none seemed to bother he sensed ruefully

a challenge to invoke beneficially good returns
to slash the field  to regain stature from slumber

slow progress in determined resurrects
to relate and  relent within strong impacts

what every junkie had sadly hoped for
to untie in time to untangle those knots
after popping in a fix, it softened of sorts
no more  resistance in enhancing the rot

but there seemed a common possibility
of the common reaction being triggered off
spasms of violent reactions showed chillingly
a peacefulness side-stepped and not absolved

they eventually suffered alone in a dream-like
stupor not bothered nor aware of the real world

nightmare, worst stony darkness revelations
indignant word cradle, beast hand

fragments of his memories or
just figments of his imagination
salacious episodes popping
not a nightmare but worst

stony silence in the darkness
revelations of past events
light and dark images dancing
in the shadows gone berserk

nothing had changed in his routines
but must dreams keep appearing
in the still of nights

indignant and very much disturbed
he watched the clock ticking when
startled from his slumber eyes blurry
not a word through the whole episode

he cradled his imagination
with a slight moan
theft of his sleeping hours would leave
him woozy but he remained uptight
the beast in him wanting to emerge
on the one hand his anger was subdued

he kept asking but answers eluded him
not that young to be privileged with
erotic dreams he persisted to get answers
he would like to dream again tonight!

find the staircase even to delve in while asleep
afflictions are solved guided through Providence

repent and not to provoke a reaction

Image:  At the Crossroads (here)

To include the following sentence:
“Crucial to finding the way is this: there is no beginning or end"

Most perplexing to the mind. Having to seek a remedy seem the second-best
thing to do. Crucial to finding the way is this: there is no beginning or end. One
is invariably stuck midway. To move forward is equally impossible as to retreating
backward. The idea is to make a start and then move, just move. It is bound to
lead somewhere. It makes it easier then to decide mindfully of the resources available
and the stamina to sustain. It is more to favour going forward. To adopt this
stance is to be progressive going along with prospects of discovery, and fulfilment.

By extension, it is going towards the end, expecting to reach a goal working on a
prospective target. On the contrary to go to the beginning is to be searching for
indications of a likely direction with prospects of keeping on searching.

Is it not a brilliant idea to provide for everyone
Where does it say one is not at liberty to have fun

Take volleyball hockey golf athletics even soccer
Whether individual or team games does it matter
Where the fairer sex have excelled to great heights
Women as a sports personality have all the rights

Do not think only men should be allowed to marvel
It may just be thoughtful to offer women their all
Sports, the arts and music are on offer just as much
For women are made for it with the feminine touch

This is a revamp of an earlier posting

Jambu tree, at last
You finally spawned some buds
Some years of waiting

The toil and fond care
Overzealous  manuring
Leaves greener than green

December arrived
Wondering what variety
Just eager to see!

The water apple ( Eugenia aquea) is variously known as jambu (Malaysia)  djamboo wer (Indonesia ) tambis (Philippines) chom-phu-pa ( Thailand) and chambekka (Malayalam, India) This is indicative of its wide distribution in South East Asia.

It is succulent and crunchy, some varieties are sweet whilst some are sour. It is available all year round

Just over a week ago I noticed my Jambu tree had spawned its first flowers. I’ve nurtured and applied fertilizers regularly for the past couple of years. I had initially applied NPK but I realized it was not good for the soil. I later got treated organic manure and had positive results  The leaves came with a rich dark green and more luscious than before. This was the day that I had waited for.
