Beauty of sparkling
desert living, a Spartan
way of existence
Listening intently yet
Unfazed of the searing  heat

Note: Kristjaan provided a music video as prompt with music by Karunesh
that has a Middle Eastern touch

Written a tanka for Chev's CARPE DIEM #245 with prompt - listening

  1. the desert is def a different way of living...have only visited...i love the difference in the landscape and plants....even they have to adapt...

  2. I have often marvelled at the life of a Bedouin....such a starkly beautiful testimony to the ancients...

  3. yeah that kind of heat you can keep, would not want up the thermometer to creep

  4. I am not such a good Tanka writer, this tanka is wonderful and I am glad that you were inspired by the music of Karunesh. In August his music will deliver the prompts.

  5. Beautiful tanka Hank.. desert living require a different set of mind.

  6. Wonderful tanka. I love 'unfazed of the searing heat'

  7. I know it was lovely photography in the video but I closed my eyes when the snake the beginning. Hence my close-eyed haiku. lol Beautiful desert scenes and exotic music. Reminded me of the movie Koyaanisqatsi. Probably ancient to the younguns. ;-O
