Black and White with Shades of Grey!

These are snapshots at Scoresby Sound, Ostgronland,
Greenland. This is one of the beautiful locations rarely
seen by the outside world where Yusuf and his buddies
were holed up in the course of their Photo Safari
expedition to Greenland and Iceland

Frenzy of conflicts
Troubled world on the outside
but soothing Greenland

Colorful but still
happy to be bathed in shades
close to black and white

Yacht in the distance
Intrudes but undaunted in
peaceful cool flourish

Poetics: Black and White

  1. The formations of the ice and the angles created in their faces is really cool. Would be neat to be somewhere as well that you knew most people would never get to see.

  2. Incredible photography and good ekphrasis on the subject. Gray as a hue of both black and white--such a strong art concept and metaphor.

  4. Terrific photography choices, & fit-as-a-fiddle trio of haiku; nice way to work the B&W prompt. Writing haiku seems to be like second nature to you these days; so cool.

  8. I think winter is a world of black and white - and those places where summer is brief you enter a world lacking color.

  12. Wonderful pictures. Yusuf really gets to unknown spots of the world. One never hears much of Greenland at all.

  14. "Frenzy of conflicts"
    "bathed in shades"
    "the distance
    Intrudes but undaunted in
    peaceful cool flourish"

I love these phrases ... together, they almost make up another little poem. :)

  17. Ah.. yes.. escaping to
    Nature's graces.. unscathing
    human culture.. snow and
    ice fresh air breeze.. in
    places
    mostly
    Nature
    dares
    tread Allone..:)
