joys of sweet geishas!

Goodness of the day
Nature exudes laughter and
joys of sweet geishas

In bright kimono
and light breeze brushing cheeks in
early morning mist

Standing tall ladies
of leisure keeping alive
a unique culture

Juxtaposed mixture
Modern and ancient both
in sync together
Where one is most likely to
sustain good living alone

For Chev's CARPE DIEM #13 - Kuheli of Kajori and
Abhra's hosting at d"Verse - where you want to be in this world

  1. Nice!
Ever seen them play in person? One of the few things I remember from living in Japan as a child.

  8. I have only been to the modern Japan.. To Tokyo and the craziness of this well-oiled machinery of a functioning city...

  13. "Geisha Girl" is a new thing to me, never heard before. Cultural difference. But thanks to you now I have the idea. It's always pleasure to learn new things.

  15. Geishas are trained like Olympic athletes; companions with more culture than any of our beauty contestant winners in the West; Japan is a very expensive destination as I understand it; so watching Japanese movies are the closest I will come to that Journey I fear.

  18. There is such beauty in that culture and it's definitely encapsulated in the Geisha.

  19. I do long to see the East - China, Japan and on the way Hawaii and/or Australia and New Zealand, but not quite through exploring Europe yet! Thanks for a lovely piece capturing the poetry as well as the images of Japan.

  21. Simply beautiful. I remember seeing a geisha outside Tokyo's main train station. I had been travelling for hours from the UK, had jet-lag and couldn't quite believe my eyes as she stood there, incongruous to my eyes against the hi-tech Tokyo backdrop. Although really it was me who was incongruous, being an obvious foreigner!
