Go blaze the trail
The young are bent on getting there
Go blaze the trail
No stopping when young hearts declare
Struck with a challenge seems all fair
Yes! It is more than just a dare
Go blaze the trail

Go blaze the trail
Go blast your way for all you care
Go blaze the trail
Sure! Fault the saying ‘it is there!’
Just go provoke a tiger’s lair
Feeling great as you are aware
Go blaze the trail

Note: I've chosen to make a double so I can continue dancing the
tune twice instead of stopping at 7 lines.

  2. In the first "go blaze the trail" seemed very encouraging, but then in the second the same phrase sounded more like the narrator was abandoning them to their own foolishness. Sounds like my Dad.

  3. Indeed each generation of young has to blaze their own trail in their own way!!

  4. It's full of vigour and a sense of derring-do!

  5. I particularly love the refrain in these - it moves the poem forward each time.

  6. Another great poem in response to the prompt; the refrain is brilliant and gives a very active feel to the poem, Hank. Strictly speaking line 4 of each stanza should rhyme with the refrain, but forms are made to be adapted to our needs, not vice versa.
