I for Infirm Athletes in ABC of Sports

Sporting events are such
that they do not discriminate
Athletes do not expect much
but push themselves to dominate

One may be handicapped but physically
The will to participate a strong motivator
The infirm see themselves unfazed mentally
Paralympics a portent indicator

  1. Great verse, it's good to see the handicapped takeing part in sport whatever their disability.

  2. Hi Hank, thanks for visiting my blog - returning the favour. Nice post (if a couple of days early) - sport should be available for everyone who wants to compete. Liked the poem.

  3. You have to admire a strong will. I don't know that I would have as much pluck given the same situation.

  4. Most people have far greater mental handicaps than those athletes have physical ones.

  5. In sports, as in every other field, mental strength counts for more than mere physical. Enjoyed each of your verses. Hand me downs particularly, I grew up in/with them!
