the long awaited first frost - a Tanka

what had been missing
from the golden brown colors
but a soothing white
now making an appearance
the long awaited first frost

competing for space
dancing slowly in the dark
floating down murky
accompanied with coolness
eerily in throes of nerves

  2. Very nice! It does add to the brown of dead leaves.

  4. The frigidness hasn't touched us yet... And I'm not looking forward to its coat. But when it comes, I'll think of how beautifully you've put it.
