The given words:
ashes discernment fear flames
identity joy lot love polarize selfless

An honored rise from the ashes
Discernment extended and earned
No more fear of conflicts and clashes
Allowing the Eternal Flames to burn

What identity of an unknown soldier
Offered no joy as not to be accorded
Lots of sacrifice from that of a warrior
Stifled from honor that was expected

Love polarized with undue regret
Selfless in courage but sadly cut down
Right in his tracks by a sniper’s bullet
Unheralded had fallen where found

  1. Some flames continue burning long after the sacrifice is made. This is a strong tribute to the fallen, Hank. Nicely wordled!

  11. The beauty of honoring the unknown soldier is that it applies to all; those dying without medals or accolades, leaving grieving families only soothed by the thought that unknown soldier may be their husband, son or parent.
