rustic abode
unspoiled hideaway
remote dream-like
pursued by city folks
idyllic tranquility

golden brown
season's exotic shades
swept by cool winds

rustic (adj. relating to, or living in the country, rural)

Note: a tanka and haiku in experimental micro-poetry
(not restricted by the conventional syllabic count of tanka's
5-7-5-7-7 or haiku's 5-7-5)

Chev's Carpe Diem #1250  -  autumn colors

  1. I like the way you've separated the 'unspoiled hideaway' in the tanka from the 'season's exotic shades' in the haiku, but connected them with 'swept by cool winds' in the final line.

  2. I think the last line of the tanka "idyllic tranquility" meanders nicely into the haiku for one mood, one poem. Read as tanka and haiku separately quite nice also

ALSO Hank, thanks for linking to Monday WRites

    much love...

  3. City folks sure like the getaway now and then.

  4. And I know a lot of people who are headed for that right now.

  5. I would love to be in such a place ... yes I am city folk.

  6. Took me back to a cabin rental in the Redwoods. Thanks, Hank.

  7. You have gathered all the emotions of closing down a cabin for the winter.
