What were they hoping to engage

Why were there concerned souls
The stones were all safely in place
Messing around the vicinity so bold
What were they hoping to engage

It was for my own good they reasoned
None from my quarters made a request
Uninvited intruders were not welcomed
Deficiencies yes, but at my own behest

No better not even dressed for the kill
Credibility suspect they had no access
Trust was lacking they should well instill
A prior relationship to smell of success

Note: A situation where the person to be rescued is reluctant.
They don’t want to be rescued, they like it where they might be

  1. Clever take on the prompt with the final stanza wrapping up the narrative deftly.

  2. Even without the situation explained the theme shone through the verses.

  3. I think it's hard to accept being rescued.... like accepting a gift, you might expect something in return... after all the princess had to give herself to the knight after he had slayed the dragon.

  4. Some people don't see the rescue as where they want to go.

  6. I think if you're happy where you are why is there need for rescuing? Someone else's idea doesn't mean that you want or need to be rescued. Good one, Hank.
