we could not imagine the strange logic

the 12 given words:
plague imagine no swing word thump tap
spry (active; nimble; agile; energetic)
forget spray tub sucks

it plagued our wise ones to no end
we could not imagine the strange logic
big trees could be uprooted
no big deal

a swing of our big trunks could kill a big lion
my word, we could just thump them over the head
in fact just a little tap would do

but instead spry and strong we were made to work
by little fellas who sat across our shoulders
shouted at, poked our ears, dug their heels
into our hides (we did not feel it)
we moved as we felt insulted by these mahouts
wee guys who wielded so much power over us

we would not forget easily
we could shoot a big spray to knock them over
this we could do when let out in the 'tub'

it isn't fair, it sucks!

  1. A true enigma of power, Hank. Well done.

  2. Yes, Hank, we do like to be in control, don't we?

  3. I love elephants and am disgusted at the way they are treated. They are so powerful and yet so wise and gentle.

  4. Perfect metaphor for the Anthropocene. We are so deluded in our powers! I don't think anyone wants to mess with a Nature ever-more prone to weather rampage.

  5. Humans sure like to have the upper hand, no matter how tiny we are in comparision.

  6. When we forget, Nature reminds us (often not in the nicest ways). But too many of us are just to stupid to get the message *sigh*.

  7. It's a pity how those poor elephants are treated.. sigh..

  8. It is hard to be an elephant. The mahout's sharp poles keep them intimidated. I am never surprised when, occasionally, one of the elephants rebels. They are meant to live free, like every other living thing.

  9. A true example of the misuse of power.

  10. "it isn't fair, it sucks!" - These final words are soo effective.

  11. Like you said that kind of power display is not fair at all

    Have a nice week Hank

  12. Unfair indeed... but memory is long.

  13. You fit the words together like a puzzle and made an elephant!

  14. If the elephant wanted him gone, he could do it in a heartbeat.
